Integrated Master

The Pharmacy program at EUC is accredited by the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Higher Education (CYQAA) as a first cycle program that will lead to an Integrated Master in Pharmacy. European University Cyprus is one of only a few universities in Cyprus and Greece to offer the accredited 5-year Integrated Master degree in Pharmacy.

Practical Training

The integrated MPharm degree in Pharmacy at EUC offers a balanced curriculum with a careful allocation of workload where the final year project and professional placement are completed in the 5th year. The Pharmacy program includes at least six months of compulsory practical training. The traineeship may take place in a pharmacy that is open to the public or in a hospital pharmacy. Students, if they so wish, can conduct their practice in Greece through the Erasmus program. The department collaborates with a number of community pharmacies and medical centers for the placement of students, such as the German Oncology Center and the Institute of Neurology and Genetics. Additionally, the department places students for internships at major pharmaceutical companies such as Remedica, Medochemie, and Delorbis.

Global recognition

The Pharmacy program is listed in the World List of Pharmacy Schools, and is a member of the International Federation of Pharmacists, allowing students to benefit from the academic network these recognitions provide. It is also accredited by the Internal Market Information System (IMI), which ensures that its graduates can practice the Pharmacist profession in any country of the European Union through the automatic recognition of their degree, as referred to in the European Directive on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications (Directive 36 / 2005 / EC). Thus, graduates who succeed their licensure examinations can become fully licensed and registered pharmacists through relevant bodies in Cyprus, Greece and throughout the EU.

Licensure

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates undertake the examinations organized by the Ministry of Health in order to obtain the licensure required to fully perform as a registered pharmacist in Cyprus, Greece and the EU. In Cyprus, graduates are examined in two courses (Pharmacy Practice and Legislation) and the examinations are conducted four times a year.

Infrastructure

Students benefit from synergies between the Pharmacy program and the School of Medicine in terms of infrastructure and laboratory equipment, academic staff, interdisciplinary support, know-how, research, prestige and recognition. Pharmacy students complete over 2500 hours of practical training and laboratory training at the university pharmacy labs.
