EUC team presents research at the 1st Mediterranean Science Festival

A number of European University Cyprus Faculty and Researchers took part at the 1st Mediterranean Science Festival in Limassol. The successful activities organized by the EUC faculty managed showcased the work of the vibrant research community of our university.

At the same time these interactive workshops and presentations managed to inform the general public about complex and important scientific ideas.

On December 3rd Associate Professor Louca Louca with a number of students organized an interactive workshop for children on “Mathematics and Science Games”

On December 4th Assistant Professor Monica Shiakou staged an engaging workshop addressed to children and parents on the school bullying under the title “Learning about School bullying”

On December 4th Dr Andreas Papadopoulos’ presentation on astrophysics “Discover the Universe” outlined key basic scientific ideas in understanding our universe while presenting the work of the EUC's Astrophysics and High Performance Computing (AHPC) group

On December 6th Dr Louiza Voniati and Dr Maria Christopoulou organized a family oriented workshop about the “Lexiadi Family” as an interactive activity on speech therapy

Lastly on December 6th Professor Andreas Efstathiou in his presentation “From the microcosm to the macrocosm” guided the audience to a short tour of the macrocosm.

The EUC workshops were deemed a success judging by the high levels of attendance by the general public and the positive feedback received!
