Breaking the Pancyprian Record
The European University Cyprus congratulates Ms. Chrystalla Kyriakou, student of the “Sports Science and Physical Education Program”, who broke the Pancyprian record in hammer throw. The athlete managed to stand out at the 46th Pancyprian Junior Women’s Championship held at GSZ, Larnaca, on 10-11 May. Ms. Chrystalla Kyriacou of the GSP Athletic Club achieved a new pancyprian young women’s record in hammer throw with 57.77m during the first day of the events. Her throw simultaneously set a new championship record.
Assistant Professor George Panayiotou, Chairman of the Department of Health Sciences stated: “The European University Cyprus feels it has a duty to offer an all-rounded support, to the best of its capacity, to the sportsmen and sportswomen who fill us with pride." He expressed the Department’s wishes to the Hammer-Thrower Ms. Chrystalla Kyriacou, wishing her "good luck and many more successes!"
