Online foundation program for medicine, dentistry & vet studies

Build on your basic sciences background and academic skills to boost your Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Medicine application

The Foundation Program for Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine is a semester-based, full-time online program for students wishing to prepare for the MD, BDS and DVM degree programs at EUC. The program is suitable for prospective students who do not meet admission criteria, who want to build on knowledge in basic sciences necessary for these degree programs, or who seek to gain a competitive advantage in their application for admission.

The foundation course focuses on knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in these science-based degree programs. The curriculum includes modules in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics which provides students with foundational knowledge for more advanced coursework. The English for Health Sciences module develops students’ competence and confidence in interacting in English in an academic context. The Academic Skills module emphasizes transversal competencies such as collaboration, communication and critical thinking, supporting future academic success. The online foundation course is delivered by experienced instructors in Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine and employs the powerful online learning management system that ensures continuous feedback and guidance.

The Foundation Entry Program for Medical, Dentistry, and Veterinary Medicine Schools is available every Spring Semester, running from February to mid-June.

The Foundation Entry Program is particularly geared to those who would like to apply to the EUC Schools of Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Medicine degree programs, but do not meet the admissions criteria for entry.  This may be based on one or all of the following:

  • Lacking Biology or Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics admissions requirement
  • Falling just short of the minimum grade requirements for admissions
  • Seeking a more complete candidate profile for admissions           

 

Students who successfully complete the modules with a cumulative grade of C+ (2.5/4.0 GPA) will receive a Certificate of Completion.
