EUC Ranked 4th in the 2025 National Best Workplaces List

Posted: May 27, 2025

European University Cyprus (EUC) has once again been recognized as one of the top employers in Cyprus, securing 4th place in the 2025 National Best Workplaces list (Large Category) by Great Place to Work®. This marks the fourth consecutive year that EUC has been featured in the prestigious national rankings—the only university in Cyprus to receive this recognition.

The award follows a rigorous evaluation of the university’s working environment and organizational culture, highlighting EUC’s commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace for over 1,300 team members.

Notably, EUC received a 93% satisfaction rating from its staff, a 5% increase over last year’s certification, while 90% of team members reported high engagement—a clear reflection of the university’s people-first philosophy.

“We are particularly proud of this recognition, which attests to the high standards of our working environment. We continue to provide our team with the right conditions for skill development, fostering academic excellence and innovation”, said Mrs. Loukia Polygerinos-Tzyrkas, Director of Human Resources at EUC.

A Model Employer in Higher Education

EUC’s strong ranking is the result of deliberate and ongoing investments in staff well-being, equality, and professional development. These include:

  • Policies promoting gender equality and zero tolerance for workplace harassment
  • Access to continuous training and development, including participation in EU programs like Erasmus+, industry-specific conferences, and corporate training initiatives

This workplace excellence supports the university’s broader mission of academic innovation and global outreach.

A Leading University with International Reach

European University Cyprus offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs across six schools, serving over 12,250 students. Over the past decade, the university has modernized and expanded its curricula, enhancing both the quality and relevance of its academic offerings.

In recent years, EUC has taken significant steps to strengthen its international presence, including:

  • The establishment of EUC’s Medical School in Frankfurt (2022)—the first international branch of a Cypriot university
  • The completion of a major campus expansion in Nicosia (2024), featuring the state of the art facilities for the School of Medicine, School of Dentistry and Dental Clinic and the School of Veterinary Medicine
  • A growing reputation as a center of academic and scientific excellence in the Mediterranean region

As part of Galileo Global Education, Europe’s largest network of higher education institutions, EUC belongs to a group of 70 academic institutions across 13 countries, representing over 300,000 students worldwide.
