The Dean of the School of Law at European University Cyprus Elected Vice President of the International Association of European Water Regulators (WAREG)

Professor Konstantinos Tsimaras, Dean of the School of Law at European University Cyprus and a member of the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Waste and Water (RAEWW), was elected Vice President of the international organization WAREG during its 33rd General Assembly, held in Brussels on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Professor Tsimaras received 20 out of 22 votes, and his term will last for two years.

WAREG, founded in 2014, comprises 25 members and 10 observers, all represented by the senior bodies of national and regional public authorities. As an association of European public authorities with financial responsibilities in the areas of drinking water and wastewater, WAREG aims to foster cooperation and knowledge exchange among its European members while supporting the implementation of European water legislation.

The election of the Dean of the School of Law of EUC highlights the University’s strong presence in the international academic and scientific community. With its Interdisciplinary Energy Institute, the School of Law confirms its role as a central pillar of innovation, specialization, and scientific excellence. This recognition represents a milestone that enhances EUC’s global reputation, demonstrating its commitment to academic excellence and extroversion, positioning it as a significant educational and research institution with international impact.
