European University Cyprus ranks 88th in Europe as a ‘Great Place to Work®’
For the third consecutive year, European University Cyprus (EUC) has been ranked among Europe’s top workplaces, securing the 88th position on the “Great Place to Work® – Best Small & Medium Workplaces in Europe™” list. Significantly, EUC is the only university in Europe included in the rankings, affirming its commitment to providing a model working environment for over 1,000 employees.
The certification was awarded following a rigorous process to assess its working environment and corporate culture, recognizing the exceptional working climate at EUC and its high-quality human resource management practices.
This recognition is a testament to the university’s dedication to ensuring high-quality working conditions that promote innovation, equality, collaboration, and the professional development of its staff. To support this commitment, EUC has implemented policies for gender equality and the prevention of all forms of workplace harassment, while also offering the option for remote work once a week.
In addition to its academic and research excellence, the university continuously invests in the professional development of its staff through local and European programs, including corporate training, participation in ERASMUS programs, and specialized conferences in Cyprus and abroad. This ongoing investment in the well-being and satisfaction of its personnel is reflected in its successful ranking among Europe’s leading organizations.
The strength of EUC lies in its team-oriented approach, where employees work collaboratively, participate equally and invest collectively. This shared commitment sets the institution apart and distinguishes it within the academic landscape.
Loukia Polygerinos-Tzyrkas, the Director of Human Resources at EUC, stated: “We are particularly proud of this recognition, which attests to the high standards of our working environment. We continue to provide our team with the right conditions for skill development, fostering academic excellence and innovation.”
As a leading university with a broad range of academic programs, EUC offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees across six schools , with over 10,000 students enrolled. Over the past decade, EUC has rapidly modernized and expanded the curricula on offer, introducing innovative academic programs and enhancing the scope and quality of higher education in Cyprus.
A significant milestone in the university’s international expansion strategy was the establishment of its Medical School in Frankfurt in 2022, making EUC the first Cypriot university to have a presence abroad. Additionally, the campus expansion in Nicosia was completed in 2024, featuring a state-of-the-art School of Veterinary Medicine that welcomed its first students this year.
