World Finance Conference 2024 held in Cyprus at EUC

The World Finance Conference (WFC) 2024 was successfully held from July 31 to August 2, 2024, in the scenic city of Nicosia, Cyprus, hosted at European University Cyprus (EUC). This prestigious event brought together leading economists, finance professionals, academics, and PhD students from renowned universities worldwide to explore and discuss the latest trends and challenges in the global finance sector.

The conference kicked off with opening remarks from distinguished speakers, including EUC Rector Prof. Andreas Efstathiou; Dean of the EUC School of Business Administration Dr. Pieris Chourides, WFC Chairman, Prof. João Vieito; WFC co-chair, Dr. Simona Mihai-Yiannaki, and Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CYSEC), Dr. George Theocharides.
A highlight of the event was the diverse line-up of keynote speakers, featuring Prof. Raghavendra Rau from Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge (United Kingdom) and Prof. Hans Degryse from KU Leuven (Belgium). The conference also included panel discussions with experts from the European Central Bank (ECB), University of Boston and Memphis University, alongside numerous networking opportunities.

WFC 2024 provided attendees with invaluable insights into global financial markets, investment strategies, banking and finance, fintech, sustainable finance, supervision and economic policies.
Participants had the opportunity to engage with thought leaders, gain fresh perspectives, and foster collaborations that drive innovation in the financial sector. Additionally, researchers presented their work and received high-quality feedback from expert discussants.

The Conference opened with a Gala Dinner on July 31, where the five best papers awards, sponsored by EUC, were presented.
